Red Clay Dance Company announces a Call for Artists to submit work for presentation in our biennial La Femme Dance Festival!
La Femme is a celebration of women in DANCE and brings choreographic works created by women of Black/African Diaspora/African descent to Chicago audiences.
La Femme is a curated evening with applications open to women artists from around the world. Festival activities include 2 evening performances (Friday/Saturday), post show discussion on Friday, a pre-show talk on Saturday, and a post show reception on Saturday night. On Thursday, there will be a free community dance class led by one of the selected choreographers followed by a learning circle session at High Concept Labs. 5 choreographers will be selected for presentation in this year's festival. Max length for all proposed work is 15 minutes. All choreographers will receive publicity, tech support, and documentation (video & photos). Decisions will be announced by January 2nd.

Complete the following application and submit by December 15th, 5pm CST. Late submissions will not be accepted. Please be sure to include a link to a 3-minute work sample of the proposed work to be performed in the festival. Selected choreographers receive a $300 honorarium. Travel and accommodations are not provided.
